Motivation[edit]

The State Hermitage Museum is one of the best art museums in the world. It is located in the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, the former residence of the Russian tsars. In the pre-COVID-19 pandemic year of 2019, the Hermitage received almost 5 million people, making it one of the ten most visited art museums in the world.
