Welcome to Wikidata, Петър Петров!

Wikidata is a free knowledge base that you can edit! It can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

  • Introduction – An introduction to the project.
  • Wikidata tours – Interactive tutorials to show you how Wikidata works.
  • Community portal – The portal for community members.
  • User options – including the 'Babel' extension, to set your language preferences.
  • Contents – The main help page for editing and using the site.
  • Project chat – Discussions about the project.
  • Tools – A collection of user-developed tools to allow for easier completion of some tasks.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask on Project chat. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Wikidata.

Best regards!

That thing you mentioned about confirmed vs. autoconfirmed[edit]

I believe it's a bug. See bugzilla:48086. Sorry 'bout that! — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 02:49, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, I didn't expect such a problem in such a core mw permissions functionality. Thank you for support, keep up the good work! --Петър Петров (talk) 14:35, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

September 2013[edit]

You have been blocked for a period of 24 hours for vandalism. Once this block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest it by editing this page and adding the following template with a suitable reason: {{unblock|1=<the reason for your unblock request>}}. If you are logged in, and the option has not been disabled, you may also email the blocking administrator (or any administrator from this list) by using this form. See Wikidata:Guide to appealing blocks for more information.

Your recent edits to items such as Larry Sanger (Q185) and Jimmy Wales (Q181) were not constructive. When the block expires, feel free to contribute to Wikidata constructively and if your edits are challenged please discuss them rather than reverting which were the grounds of the above block. John F. Lewis (talk) 00:25, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Adding a "second opinion": I think this is entirely justified. Due to how our content is presented and re-used, Wikidata should be changed less freely than a regular wiki, and users should be careful to abide by consensus and listen to others. In your case, I would hope that you discuss more and act less in future. Sorry that it has come to a block, however. James F. (talk) 00:29, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I really disagree with this block happening. If you look at what actually happened, Петър Петров tried replacing a deprecated statement with a current one (though still not entirely correct), and was rolled back by an admin. First of all, the rollback was inappropriate. The admin should have undone and left a justification as to why. Петър Петров then re-added his change, with justification and requesting discussion. He was again rolled back. He undid that edit, was reverted and blocked by John above. Ricordisamoa, the admin reverting him, was just as much in the wrong as he. Both of them were adding bad statements to the page, and both were edit warring. In fact, Ricordisamoa was possibly doing worse, since he didn't even provide justification for his actions. I am very disappointed to see this result, and think that Петър Петров should be unblocked so he can at least participate in the resulting discussion current going on on the project chat. If John is unwilling to unblock, then to Петър Петров: Feel free to add your thoughts here and I'll make sure that they are brought up on the project chat. Thank you for your POV, really. You are the first person to provide arguments here. But can you explain to me why do you think I'm "adding bad statements to the page"? If that becomes clear to me then perhaps I can understand the stubbornness. Also I'm not sure where is the project chat so I started Wikidata:Requests for comment/More people should comment on this rv and block. --Петър Петров (talk) 20:48, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Lol, yeah, that's pretty much what happened. I deleted "male" and "person" and added "man". A man is both a person and male. So no semantic is altered. The only possible reason for suspision would be the lack of source. However I will not comment on this unless requested explicitly.
What concerns me deeply is the lack of any arguments for the reverts. Not only that but a block and without any arguments besides "not constructive" and "it seems to me". In bgwiki a frivolous ban would probably cost you the admin flag. I have to see why wikidata is different in that regard. --Петър Петров (talk) 19:03, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
