Broaden this property to include e.g. websites distributing content

At Wikidata:Project chat#accessed using this service there is a discussion about potentially broadening this property to record websites that distribute content others have published (e.g. Google Books, Internet Archive). Time to stop the madness of deduced statements?

Hi, currently there is a chain reaction, started by a number of users:

In a long term these edits will have bad consequences in general. Lets take, for example, Q2560739#P750. This is a random album, distributed by various music services. These IDs are present as external ids, which is 100% enough for saying that this album is distributed by specific service. And this is just a beginning, there is also upcoming Yandex Music, Youtube (for this item) and dozens of other streaming services with this album to be added in the future (iHeartRadio, Genie, JOOX, Gaana, JioSaavn, Hungama, Wynk, TIDAL, etc.). Moreover, such usage was not even discussed in P750 proposal, because at that point of time none of above-mentioned external id properties did exist. Let's stop it. There is no need to use distributed by (P750) there. It's like saying, that person is present in Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and then requiring mandatory to add Instagram, Facebook and Twitter in website account on (P553). It's like saying, that person has VIAF ID and requiring mandatory to add described by source (P1343)Virtual International Authority File (Q54919). If there are no reasonable objections, I'll remove item-requires-statement constraint (Q21503247) constraints and add none-of constraint (Q52558054) soon, as was done in Property:P553#P553$20B29ED9-B4C1-452F-9DE5-08157D3E53A7. --Lockal (talk) 13:11, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Yes, same issue with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video ID, etc. distributed by (P750) is an old property from 2013, even though in Wikidata:Property_proposal/Archive/12#P750 there were (kind of) suggestions to use it for enumerating all film distributors, everything changed since then and now there are separate properties for all popular services. upd: ok, not touching Misc edits. --Lockal (talk) 13:35, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
