Clarification[edit]

The English label and description for this property effectively duplicate structure replaced by (P167), however the example and the proposal look like the intention was the inverse of P167:

What's the deal here? Mrwojo (talk) 22:06, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Looks to me like it should be the reciprocating property to go with structure replaced by (P167), the label should be changed to something like replaces structure. Danrok (talk) 23:33, 25 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with Danrok on this. The current label is not clear; the original proposal was "replaces [structure]" (while replaces (P1365) is for items other than structures). Capmo (talk) 05:17, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's been >3 days and I'm in agreement with the above. So I've changed the English label/description accordingly. Mrwojo (talk) 15:34, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

In general, we avoid doing that.
There are also the descriptions/labels in other languages and the actual uses of the property.
I wonder if we should go through deleting it and recreating it with a new id. --- Jura 16:22, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I made a request for that at Wikidata:Properties_for_deletion#Property:P1398. --- Jura 11:34, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What about replacements at a different location[edit]

The church Q21035594 was torn down due to an open pit mining, and a new church St. Silvester (Q27478891) was built as its replacement about 1.5 km away. Thus its not possible to use this property to link the two, and AFAIK there is no other property. Ahoerstemeier (talk) 12:55, 21 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
