• If a redirect is chosen, the change of the color is very tiny and its difficult to see wether a redirect is chosen or not.

• I've added the translation to the script and changed the background color of selected items to make the difference more visible. I don't quite understand where a "global" option would be useful, though. Different languages use entirely different scripts.   For example, if I created an entity on many chemical elements I would have the possibility to add only aliases for my language. Many other people should add those same aliases to their tongues. I like the idea, but I'm not sure "Title (disambiguation)" is the best example. There are a lot of other types of redirects that aren't acceptable as aliases, and I don't want the tool to give the impression that everything short of having brackets in the name is appropriate. Not sure if zh-cn/zh-sg can fallback to zh-hans (Simplified Chinese), zh-hk/zh-mo/zh-tw can fallback to zh-hant (Traditional Chinese) automatically or not, so I included them all :-P Thank you. --tOMG 01:50, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

The script works by finding redirects in the specific Wikipedia of the selected language, so if a user has zh-cn selected as their language, it won't be able to find any redirects, as http://zh-cn.wikipedia.org/ doesn't exist.

feature request

Hy, is it possible to check if a redirect links to a special part of an article and exclude them?--CENNOXX (talk) 15:14, 24 November 2012 (UTC)

The only way that I can think of to do that would be to request the content of the pages from the servers. Not the fastest operation, I suspect. I've thrown together User:Yair rand/FindRedirectsForAliases2.js, which does this. Speedup

• You can speedup the loading of the script, when you move the script to MediaWiki:Gadget-FindRedirectsForAliases.js.
• You can enable the ResourceLoader by putting FindRedirectsForAliases[ResourceLoader|dependencies=mediawiki.util]|FindRedirectsForAliases.js in MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition, when there are no problems with the script.
• When you put the CSS definitions to MediaWiki:Gadget-FindRedirectsForAliases.css you get a automatic flip of float: left to float: right for RTL languages.
