Rev. Randall Burroughes, of Manor House, Long Stratton, Norfolk (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.150) married Elizabeth Maria Ellis, daughter and heiress of William Ellis, Esquire, of Kiddal Hall, Barwick in Elmet, Yorkshire, who served with the Duke of Cumberland at Culloden (Burke's Genealogical and Heraldic History of the Landed Gentry, Volume 1, 1847, p.1767); See hatchments in St Mary's Church, Long Stratton/Stratton St Mary, Norfolk: Burroughes (Argent, two chevronels between three chaplets vert) with inescutcheon of Ellis (Or, on a cross sable five crescents argent) (Farrer, Edmund, The church heraldry of Norfolk: a description of all coats of arms on brasses, monuments, slabs, hatchments, &c., now to be found in the county. llustrated. With references to Blomefield's History of Norfolk and Burke's Armory. Together with notes from the inscriptions attached, Vol I, Norwich, 1887, p.201[1]); Burroughes quartering Ellis, impaling: Sable, a cross argent fretty of the field between four lions' heads erased of the second (Marsh); Crest: A griffin's head erased argent charged on the breast with two chevrons vert (Burroughes). For Rev. Ellis Burroughes (died December 24th, 1831, in his 68th year), M.A., only son of Rev. Randall Burroughes and his wife Elizabeth Maria Ellis. He was Rector of Stowlangtoft, Suffolk, and Tasburgh, Norfolk. He married Sarah Nasmyth Marsh (died May 13th, 1838, aged 67), only daughter of Robert Marsh of the City of Norwich. (Source: Farrer, p.202). Rev. Ellis Burroughes was a nephew of James Burkin Burroughes of Burlingham Hall, Norfolk (Burke's General Armory, 1862). "By deed of 1 and 2 February 1804 and in consideration of £10,500 paid by Edward Wilkinson, Ellis Burroughes conveyed the manor of Kiddal and Woodhouse with 314a.2r.10p. of land to John Pearse of Lincoln's Inn Field and Rev. Thomas Heath Marsh of Erpingham, Norfolk, in trust to Edward Wilkinson. By deed of 30 and 31 January 1818, the property was finally released to Edward Wilkinson."
