Notes According to one hypothesis, this painting - along with La Charité céleste (inv 8498) and ( La Vertu , inv 8499) - was part of a series painted for the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye. This hypothesis is accepted on the Joconde database entry (link provided below)[1]
