Description

В феврале 1762 года А.П. Антропов исполняет небольшой эскиз для парадного портрета Петра III, который всего два месяца как вошел на российский престол. Новый император изображен в условном интерьере, похожем на личные дворцовые покои. Начальный вариант еще не дотягивал до настоящего парадного императорского портрета.

В картину вписан еще один портрет — Петра I, что должно свидетельствовать о преемственности и легитимности власти Петра Федоровича.

В ходе дальнейшей работы эскиз будет художником значительно переработан.
