Wojciech Roj (1839–1924) – zakopiański gazda, przewodnik tatrzański, utalentowany cieśla, a także konstruktor i realizator projektów Stanisława Witkiewicza.

Obraz pochodzi z kolekcji Feliksa Jasieńskiego, który zaangażował się w obronę teorii Witkiewicza związanych ze „stylem zakopiańskim”. W tej obronie prowadził dyskusje z Edgarem Kovátsem i jego „sposobem zakopiańskim” – w dyskusje zaangażował środowiska Krakowa, Lwowa zwracając uwagę na „rodzime pierwiastki sztuki”.
