Hij was hoveling tot Ezinge, Feerwerd-Hardeweer, Grootegast en Doezem, erfschepper van Ezinge en Hardeweer, medegecommiteerde der admiraliteit tot Harlingen, medegecommiteerde raad der Ommelanden. Getrouwd in 1639 met Meenwertien Fockens, in 1674 met Margaretha Nutte en in 1660 met Abeltje Mellema.
