Description
Français : Portrait de Clotilde de Vaux exposé dans le salon de l'appartement d'Auguste Comte (philosophe, 1798- 1857), 10 rue Monsieur le Prince à Paris.
  • Dans le salon, à droite au mur, le portrait de Clotilde de Vaux fait par le peintre Etex au-dessus du fauteuil sur lequel elle s'asseyait lors de ses visites à Auguste Comte. La rencontre avec elle eu lieu en 1845, elle meurt un an plus tard (rue Payenne, sa maison a été transformée en Chapelle positiviste). C'est sous son influence et en son souvenir qu'Auguste Comte a imaginé une religion dont le culte est l'Humanité elle-même.
