English: Arklow harbour. The fortunes of Arklow harbour have declined in recent years with the closure of the local fertiliser factory and the cessation of the export of wood chips. There is some business connected with an offshore windfarm and the harbour is used by fishing boats. Here the mussel dredger WD-190 Noordster is berthed outside the former lightship "Skua".
SKUA
The "Skua" was delivered to Irish Lights in 1960
Year of construction: 1960
Shipyard: Phillip & Son, Dartmouth, Devon, England
