the pleasure of meeting hismother, who was going down to the Salt lakeon some mysterious mission, accompanied by amost truculent-looking set of warriors. Bothare of nearly pure Wahima race, and from myexperience of them, both are cowardly and un-trustworthy, though not lacking in cleverness. A considerable amount of state is observed byboth. They are constantly followed about by acrowd of dissipated courtiers, chiefly boys andyoung men.
