Question[edit]

This class is intended to separate human characters from gods and animals? --Infovarius (talk) 21:47, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Infovarius: Yes, that is correct. --Yair rand (talk) 21:54, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Are there are many gods and animals with articles in Bible? --Infovarius (talk) 22:23, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Infovarius: I think non-human biblical characters are numerous enough to mark the distinction. For a few examples, see the contents of Category:Animals in the Bible (Q15402865) as well as much of Category:Angels in Judaism (Q7184108) and Category:Angels in Christianity (Q7598272). --Yair rand (talk) 22:49, 12 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relations with historical figures[edit]

I have just removed Paul the Apostle (Q9200)instance of (P31)human biblical figure (Q20643955), because I think there is problem in the way this item is modeled and its application to historical figures (in opposition to fictionnal figures). If I understand the subclasses correctly, we can't be sure if someone described as human biblical figure (Q20643955) ever existed, because both human whose existence is disputed (Q21070568) and biblical character (Q12405827) ultimately lead to hypothetical entity (Q18706315). However, I am seing it indiscriminately used on any person who is mentionned in Bible (Q1845), without considering wheter or not they actually existed. Currently, it seems to me that stating instance of (P31)human biblical figure (Q20643955) is another way of stating present in work (P1441)Bible (Q1845), which is also designed to be limited to fictionnal characters.

I am not aware than anybody ever doubted Paul the Apostle (Q9200) existed; same could be said of Cyrus the Great (Q8423), of which I have also recently removed this statement. And what about Jesus (Q302) ? I one want to record every entity mentionned in Bible (Q1845), I don't think it should be done through instance of (P31). --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 10:43, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
