Superseded[edit]

If you have the time to remove a superseded property, you have time to replace it with the new version instead of just leaving the statement unreferenced. DS (talk) 21:48, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DragonflySixtyseven: sorry for the oversight, though you could have assumed good faith, like I shall do for you accidental removal of an identifier on Giovacchino Belli (Q59309147). There is no need for you to "dig through" all of my contributions, as I can do that myself and catch if they are other cases. Lelex[edit]

Hello @Jahl de Vautban, Most of the sources describe Lelex as an autochthon, which mean he has no parents. This why I suggest to erase from Wikidata the idea that Poseidon is his father. Best regards, Belysarius (talk) 08:51, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour @Belysarius:, je crois que vous parlez français, ça sera plus simple. Sur Wikidata, nous n'effaçons pas les informations qui sont sourcées ; à la place nous utilisons les rangs pour indiquer si elles sont fausses (rang obsolète), valides (rang normal) ou représentant la valeur la plus précise, consensuelle, récente, etc. (rang préféré). Dans ce cas, j'ai négligé qu'il y avait plusieurs traditions sur Lélex et que nous avions en fait plusieurs items pour différentes facettes du mythe. @شادي: hello, modelling books on Wikidata follows the guidelines of Wikidata:WikiProject Books, themselves derived from standard bibliographic models used by libraries. Most importantly, we differenciate between a "work", the abstract concept of the book, and the "edition", which is the physical manifestation of the book. This modelling comes in handy when several editions exist. You may compare The Mediterranean and the Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II (Q1169779) (the work) with The Mediterranean and the Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II (French) (Q109749424) and El Mediterráneo y el mundo mediterráneo en la época de Felipe II (Q109749334) (the editions).
