fix vandalism[edit]

@Jura1: - Over my past 500 edits (going back to February 2020), I used edit summaries that included the word "vandalism" on 87 occasions. I've just finished examining each of those 87 diffs. 2 were false positives; in one instance, I apologized to the user. The other case was an IP editor; if you feel it appropriate, I will certainly apologize to that IP address as well, but I don't know that it would ever be seen by its intended recipient.

Of the remaining 85, 82 were blatantly malicious attempts to damage the integrity of the database (and, sometimes, to commit defamation), 2 could potentially have been the result of someone clicking 'edit' by mistake and then accidentally hitting a few keys before unintentionally saving the edit, and 1 was a POV-pusher who included threats against other users in the edit summary. That's why I referred to the contributions of other users as vandalism: because in at least 82 / 87 cases, and possibly as many as 85 / 87 cases, that's what they were.

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]

Dear DragonflySixtyseven,

I hope you are doing well,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I am working on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender model that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our model based on your previous edits. Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study should take no more than 15 minutes.

It's nice of you to create new names. Please be so kind and fill in at least these three properties, it will save the other Wikidata contributors a lot of work:

For persons of Russian, Ukrainian, Serbian origin etc., and other countries with Cyrillic writing system, create the name in Cyrillic script:

instance of (P31) (use "family name (Q101352)", "male given name (Q12308941)" or "female given name (Q11879590)")
writing system (P282) (use "Cyrillic script (Q8209)")
native label (P1705) (use "mul" for the language specification; specific language specifications require a reference)

Note: The transliteration from e.g. Russian (Q7737)/Ukrainian (Q8798)/Serbian (Q9299) etc. to English (Q1860), French (Q150), German (Q188) and various other languages is different.
