Q16725860 and this item[edit]

Both are "Aleph", this item as "first letter of many Semitic alphabets", the other one as "first letter in the Hebrew alphabet". Technically this is different - on the other hand, several wikipedia pages include both meanings, so I'm not sure if keeping them separated is useful - as an example, there is no English interwiki-link in the German page now, despite the very similar content (both deal with both meanings). They have 20 and 26 entries respectively, and not a single language version has separate articles for them - merging would not give any conflicts. Rigadoun merged them in 2014 but Andreasmperu reverted. I suggest a merge into this item. --mfb (talk) 10:45, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And what about ا (Q172537), 𐤀 (Q9099112), ܐ (Q3594640), 𐡀 (Q17524983) and 𐡠 (Q17538263), which are also (together with א (Q16725860)) the first letter of a Semitic alphabet? @Andreasm: Different symbols and different names (at least where I checked it), but I see the point.

@Conny: I guess that is possible - as soon as other alphabets are mentioned, put it in the combined category. My motivation for the discussion is getting the (or more) interwikilinks as all articles from both items have very similar content. --mfb (talk) 12:34, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
