Note[edit]

The website is being rebuilt. The IDs seem to have all changed. Thierry Caro (talk) 09:58, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Site contents moved to cdnrockiesdatabases.ca[edit]

The previously established contents at peakfinder.com has been moved to https://cdnrockiesdatabases.ca/. Citation templates and site URLs have been updated on the English Wikipedia to reflect the move. However, this is not simply a URL change because the peakfinder.com site has a new owner which has information related to mountains but has nothing to do with mountains in the Canadian Rockies. So currently, if you click a peakfinder ID link on here, you get directed to a page stated the contents has been moved to cdnrockiesdatabases.ca. I don't know what the standard process on Wikidata is for handling this type of change. If you update the property formatter URL to use cdnrockiesdatabases.ca instead of peakfinder.com, all links will then work. The "/peaks/" and ID did not change when the site contents got moved. Should a new property be created for the ID on cdnrockiesdatabases.ca? Or simply change the name of this property? A property rename and Formatter URL change fixes all the Wikidata links w/o any further edits required. This site also has different URL formats on IDs linked to mountain ranges, mountain passes and people. Probably should setup three new properties so proper references can be added for ranges, passes and people. I guess that should be done via three separate new property requests?
