Ethnicity[edit]
At some time during the past month, the ethnic group was changed from 'African-American' to 'Irish American' and 'Luo people of Kenya and Tanzania' (the latter unsourced). Obama might indeed have both of these ancestries, but as ethnic group (P172) states unequivocally the only acceptable sources for similar claims are either the individual himself or the consensus of scholars, and from this New York Times article Obama described himself as an African American in the 2010 census form, without specifying any other ethnicities.--Underlying lk (talk) 21:47, 13 March 2014 (UTC)
- I did that change. As you have a source for 'Afro American' I have added that source to that statement.
- Luo ethnicity is well established for Barack Obama's father. I think there may be a source in his book 'Dreams of my father' which establishes his efforts to reconnect with his family there. Filceolaire (talk) 01:18, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

- @Mateusbs17: We still keep the @POTUS Twitter linked, even though it doesn't refer to Barack Obama anymore. To avoid such confusion, qualifiers are used to denote when the account was used under Obama's name.
