A model is a sentence?
[edit]This item currently has the following subclass of (P279) chain:
model (Q1979154) → hypothesis (Q41719) → premise (Q321703) → proposition (Q108163) → declarative sentence (Q474328) → sentence (Q41796)
This is wrong, but I'm not sure exactly where. Is a model always a hypothesis? Is a proposition always one declarative sentence? I think the answer to both is no. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 23:44, 26 March 2022 (UTC)
- Agreed. A model is not always a hypothesis; I'll remove that. JesseW (talk) 13:52, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- Nice. Although I don't really understand this edit; is a model not a representation? ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 22:01, 1 August 2022 (UTC)
- conceptual models are representations, but this is the union of those and physical models, which generally aren't (they are physical, and "representation" (or at least, that item) is abstract). I know this should get a superclass somewhere further down than entity, I'm just not sure what it should be. Suggestions welcomed! JesseW (talk) 00:55, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Hm good point. I guess representation (Q4393498)'s other superclass, artificial object (Q16686448), would work. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 12:50, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

product model Q10929058
[edit]Produce model was merged into this class even though product model is very different from a model in general. How can this merge be undone? Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 16:25, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
Ontology
[edit]I think that model (Q1979154)instance of (P31)field of study (Q2267705), model (Q1979154)instance of (P31)specialty (Q1047113) and model (Q1979154)instance of (P31)academic discipline (Q11862829) are inconsistent. So I've removed them all. PAC2 (talk) 19:50, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
