Thanks to Magnus this can now be added with WikiData Free Image Search Tool (Q21283216) (option "Add as ..", then scroll down, just before "panorama view"). This helps mainly when you can across one when adding other images. Subcategories of c:Category:360° panoramas might be helpful to start making use of this property.

clicking on the image should open it in some appropriate viewer

opening the image as plain image does not help. A panoviewer is needed by default. --Herzi Pinki (talk) 14:31, 22 August 2023 (UTC)
