Wikidata talk:WikiProject Ships/Classification

Guidance on what is a ship or not, should probably be spoken about on your project page. For instance, anything that can move and float on water as a purpose of doing some work is called "watercraft". All ships are watercraft, but not all watercraft are ships. Status of project

Is this part of the project still active? There are lots of problems with classification of ships and the documentation of ship type, ship class, etc., should be updated. Peter F. Patel-Schneider (talk) 13:43, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

instance of ship classes?

I thought that the relationship between a ship and its class was via vessel class.

But this page says

An individual ship (Q11446) is an instance of (P31) either a ship type (Q2235308), or ship class (Q559026), or submarine class (Q1428357);

Should this page be updated?
