I feel like an idiot asking for help on this but what type of item should barbershops and hair related professions be categorized under? There are many different items relating to places that either style men's hair, style women's hair, provide body styling in general, provide hairstyling in general, and provide body-only styling. Below I have listed all the items I can find related to personal beauty. How do we suggest to categorize differing cultures beauty salons and employees doing beauty salons? How specific do we wish to go on categories as well?

Q11265853 is a Peluquería, which is essentially a hair styling place that services all genders in Spain. Is this equivalent to a hair salon in English?

Q3062512 is also unisex hair salon and is a simple duplicate for Netherlands.

Q1195245 is linked to the concept of a general beauty & hair salon on enwiki (it is redirected from hair salon) but on other wikis is simply a "body" salon so to speak that does not deal with hair.

Q6158079 is a Japanese specific beauty salon?

Q55187 is the concept of a hairdresser that may work at any of these places.

Q27038996 is a hair salon that only cuts women's hair, the opposite of a barbershop.

Q21980641 is the concept of a male barbershop but only is linked to one article on zh_yuewiki.

Q107198 is the concept of a barber who can only work at barbershops.

Q1122445 is the concept of a canine hairdresser. How does this relate to the above categories?

Q999981 is the concept of animals/humans grooming themselves. The above but different sort of.

Q57261067 is the hairdressing industry.

Q29586123 is the entire beauty treatment industry including hairdressing as defined by the EU.

Q58001851 is the craft of beauty treatment.

Q3058993 is an cosmetologist.

Q12752882 is the cosmetics industry, which cosmetologists do not necessarily work in.

I'm sure there are many more examples. How can we merge some of these items while still maintaining their uniqueness? Is there a possibility that we could use qualifiers? Chess (talk) 09:16, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
