Motivation[edit]
UN/CEFACT common codes are used as unit identifiers in business systems, including Universal Business Language[1] and Schema.org[2]. The code list is maintained by the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT), a UN body charged with standardizing systems for international trade. Linking Wikidata items for units with their respective CEFACT codes could make it easier to combine Wikidata with certain business data (sales numbers, prices, etc.).
