Motivation[edit]

This is valuable because it is used as an ID at SLU and perhaps in other places.--So9q (talk) 23:43, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The whole list of IDs is in this old PDF but not found on the official pages at SCB or UKÄ.--So9q (talk) 10:17, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

  •  CommentHave you analyzed how different are the two versions? If 2016 is a superset of 2011, then it's better to have just one prop IMHO Vladimir Alexiev (talk) 10:15, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Egon and I just looked into it a bit in the Telegram WikiCite channel. Feel free to join if you want. Basically they changed a few names to correspond to OECDs changes to FORD. Here is a translated summary:
"Revision of the standard August 2016 The standard was revised to change the OECD classification in 2015 in band with the revision of the Frascati Manual. The name of the list has changed from Field of Science and Technology (FOS) to Field of Research and Development (FORD). In addition, the heading Agricultural Science is on 1-digit level changed to Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine and the humanities at the 1-digit level has been changed to the humanities and arts, this then corresponding headings in the OECD classification have been changed. The new headlines does not, however, imply substantive changes at lower levels in the tion. In addition, a clarification that industrial economics is included under Other mechanical engineering (20399) has been introduced into the standard. This is in line with it translation key produced between the previous national list and the new standard for research topics. Revisions to the standard take place when the OECD classification is updated."

  •  Comment Hmm, maybe we need a property for OECD's FORD then? Does this actually differ from FORD (other than having Swedish labels)? ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:55, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@ArthurPSmith: Yes it differs. It is vastly expanded compared to FORD. See the links in the description. A property for FORD could be proposed, but is anyone using it? Until we find it in use, I suggest we ignore it.--So9q (talk) 15:07, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
