Motivation

I'm managing a GLAM collaboration with Secretariat of Culture of Mexico. This datasets are available to fill a huge gap about Mexican Culture sector in Wikidata and will add info from my country. Also will be a good first step for another datasets that will be provided by the Government secretariat. ProtoplasmaKid (talk) 01:01, 18 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Oppose Interesting, but according to formatter URL = different properties are apparently needed. On a different matter, property's name should be more aligned with our standards for external ID's: "Sistema de Información Cultural ID". strakhov (talk) 20:02, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
True but that strange to have several property to point to one same and only database. Would it be possible to have a formatter URL with $1 and $2? It's not the first time that this question arise (I asked recently something similar on Wikidata:Project_chat#Tricky_conditions_for_a_CIL_property, and I remember seeing it elsewhere several times before). @Lea Lacroix (WMDE), Lydia Pintscher (WMDE): do you have an idea for this? Otherwise, a jacky-dirty way would be to use "biblioteca&table_id=7016" as $1 but it's not ideal at all. Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 18:37, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the ping, Sadads. ProtoplasmaKid, it seems a good idea to add this datasets but what Strakhov and VIGNERON said is essential. The trick of Vigneron would solve it but it would be very dirty to have, I think. Unless Lea or Lydia gives another solution, another way could be to have one property for dataset, I mean "Sistema de Información Cultural Library ID" (identificador Sistema de Información Cultural de biblioteca), "Sistema de Información Cultural Museum ID" (identificador Sistema de Información Cultural de museo), etc... There are another cases in which we use different properties to refer to the same website but different datasets, for example Dialnet with the author, articles, books and journals identifiers. In this case, each table type could be an independent property with its own formatter url. Regards, Ivanhercaz (Talk) 19:26, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@strakhov: Does the emerging consensus of creating separated properties work for you? We shouldn't have to create another discussion if that is the case. Sadads (talk) 19:23, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I was the first one who suggested that (creating different properties), so you could figure out I've no problem at all with this "emerging consensus". Cheers. strakhov (talk) 19:35, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to clarify, since your !Vote is still an "oppose", Sadads (talk) 20:14, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Cultural heritage has more than 50 participants and couldn't be pinged. Please post on the WikiProject's talk page instead. for more discussion. Sadads (talk) 18:14, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, and sorry for the late answer. It is not possible to have two variables in the formatter URL. Lea Lacroix (WMDE) (talk) 09:50, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

So the best for this case would be to create a property for each table=, as me, Spinster and Fralambert have recommended. @ProtoplasmaKid: I  support this proposal, but it needs to be splitted in several properties. If you need help, just ask! Regards, Ivanhercaz (Talk) 16:26, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoplasmaKid: are you still interested in this proposal? If so, could you specialize it for one of the types you mention (the one you want to get created first) and propose other properties for each other type? If not, please use |status=withdrawn. Thanks! − Pintoch (talk) 08:52, 6 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoplasmaKid: last call. Please reply or this proposal will be closed without creating any property. Multichill (talk) 09:49, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
