- Motivation
QUDT is an ontology developed by NASA that allows to express units of measurements and dimensions. We should link our units to QUDT units so that it would be possible to reason about quantities expressed in the same units.
Alternatively, we could replace URL with post-URL part as identifier, and make this property external identifier with formatter URL of http://www.qudt.org/qudt/owl/1.0.0/unit/Instances.html#$1

- Discussion
- Support, but only as external-id Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:16, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support - also as external-id - the wikidata RDF export should be using the formatter URL to create the appropriate URI so this should link correctly, though some tweaking may still be needed. I've done some work with QUTD and related ontologies, so I think this is a good thing to do. However, are you going to propose a QUDT quantity property also? @Laboramus, Pigsonthewing, ArthurPSmith: Done Now QUDT unit ID (P2968) --Lymantria (talk) 10:26, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Laboramus: Should the Formatter URL actually be like http://qudt.org/vocab/unit/IN-PER-SEC ? rather than the instances URL ? Thadguidry (talk) 02:12, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Thadguidry: It should be the one that is used in QUDT's own datasets, I think that's the one I used, but if not, please correct me. I'll re-check it and fix the property if I was wrong. Laboramus (talk) 18:19, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
- Wait, let me rephrase that. Formatter URL should be link to human-readable one, RDF URL should be link to data one. It looks like they are ok now on the property. --Laboramus (talk) 18:23, 12 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Laboramus Then if Formatter URL is human-readable one, then you are using the wrong one. QUDT acknowledges that the vocab link is the corect one to use when referencing as we are from Wikidata. So please update the Formatter URL to use the http://qudt.org/vocab/unit/$1 since it provides much more information in human-readable form compared to the outdated 2010 OWL instances records http://qudt.org/qudt/owl/1.0.0/unit/Instances.html#InchPerSecond Thanks !
