Motivation[edit]
The 'place of devotion' is the place where a certain religious devotion was practiced and for which devotional images (or texts) were produced; e.g. devotional prints for ‘Our Lady of Loreto’. Such devotional objects could however be produced elsewhere (e.g. Antwerp produced many Early Modern devotional prints), so that ‘place of devotion’ should be distinguished from ‘place of creation’. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by ArnaudWiki (talk • contribs).
