Motivering/begrunnelse[edit]

The property give an identifier for norwegian refugees to Sweden 1940 - 45, the register contains, name, date of birth and date for arrival to Sweden. (Legg inn motivering/begrunnelse for forslaget til denne egenskapen her.) Pmt (talk) 20:53, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

I wonder if there should be a link that shows how the identifier is supposed to work, and whether this is a real link. If this is some kind of experimental way to create a link for the id I would propose to use something like https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/43434/194#32915 for the example "Fjellbu, Arne". This will identify the page where there is an entry for the person, even if it is just one of several persons on the page. This approx what is described for cool uris.[1] Jeblad (talk) 21:42, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Pmt: This could be set to "ready" state if you can fix the formatter URL and ID's to something that will work. What Jeblad suggested just above is fine except that it would change the id's to something like "194#32915" rather than just "32915". What's in the examples right now however is not ok, it does not bring you to the actual record. I don't know if there's an easy solution here, but please take a look and see if you can fix this issue. ArthurPSmith (talk) 17:38, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps Pmt and I should discuss this with Arkivverket, they operate Digitalarkivet, as there is an other outstanding issue too. [Note also Wikidata:Project chat#Odd identifier, how to do it.] Jeblad (talk) 18:26, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@ArthurPSmith: Actually, using "194#32915" would be wrong as only "32915" is the number used for the person. What we should do is to have an identifier without a URL-pattern (aka no linking on the identifier), but enforce a URL-reference. The URL-reference should point to the correct page, that is https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/43434/194. I believe this would be sufficient for use as a URN, and would be within the external identifiers definition. Jeblad (talk) 21:35, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
What if we remove formatter URL (P1630) and add either citation needed or mandatory qualifiers with archive URL (P1065). I wonder if the later is the correct choice in this case. Citation implies a reference to a third party, which is not the case here, the link goes to the archived refugee list. Jeblad (talk) 23:15, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that would be fine with me. ArthurPSmith (talk) 14:22, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I am pretty sure this should be both a single value and distinct value, unless something is completely wrong. Still note that this is a manual register and thus errors should be expected.
Use also mandatory qualifiers with archive URL (P1065). Jeblad (talk) 17:31, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
