Motivation[edit]
This is a useful authority source for Swedish persons and organizations. It could also help finding archives left by these people and organization for research or other purposes. Belteshassar (talk) 13:38, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
Discussion[edit]
- Support @Yger, Larske: maybe can fix the problems we see today - Salgo60 (talk) 13:52, 12 June 2021 (UTC)
- Comment would be interesting to get an understanding what www.riksarkivet.se/nad plans to do. We have at least one church book "SE/ULA/11701" that look it is "duplicated". As people doing genealogy use the "old" NAD I feel the old NAD should be displayed in the Wikipedia article -->
- Ry4ZIcmaweZJTe018W43t3 - SE/ULA/11701 Våmhus kyrkoarkiv
- Arkis%208ce1ec44-d924-4f07-b3a1-2c5c75ee57d8 - SE/ULA/11701 Nohldén, Eric Emanuel (1895 – 1947)

- Thanks for bringing this up Salgo60. The National Archive has a legacy system with catalog codes on the form SE/XX/YYYY. This format is used for both agents and archives. Currently we have used the property Swedish National Archive reference code (P5324) mostly for archives, but also for agents in some cases. That mostly worked, because both types of records were accessible through the same search url and the codes were mostly non-overlapping. However, as pointed out above, there are occasional collisions, so this is not a good solution. A potential fix would be to create a separate property for agents and migrate all applicable statements to that property. It feels better to me to use the new scheme with the 22 character alphanumeric identifiers as that is what the archive recommends if you want to link to their records. For the archives, the old scheme is very useful to keep as this is used by genealogists and historians so we want to show those identifiers on svwiki. My understanding is that there is no such use for the agent records. Belteshassar (talk) 08:12, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- I agree I am more interested how the National Archives will adress this problem. One simple "solution" is to do as Wikipedia do when we have namespace "collisions" with Disambiguation pages or use something like a hatnote - Salgo60 (talk) 08:28, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- This a bit OT, but in a way they have already solved it as you can add the type= parameter to the search url to specify if you want places, archives or agents. Belteshassar (talk) 09:39, 13 June 2021 (UTC)
- OK I feel we need to get the whole scope of this issue and also get the NAD people onboard. Thanks for the insight about the type= parameter then maybe we should have that in the Swedish Wikipedia article templates to avoid problems cc: Larske - Salgo60 (talk) 03:44, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
- Jag lade mer info om parametrarna här. Kanske kan vi fortsätta diskussionen där? Belteshassar (talk) 09:41, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
