MuIS object ID[edit]
Originally proposed at Wikidata:Property proposal/Authority control
Description | identifier for an object in the Estonian museum database MuIS |
---|---|
Represents | Q12370563 (I am not sure what the English term for this is - an exhibit must be exposed, right? This just means it's in the collection and accounted for, but not necessarily hanging) |
Data type | External identifier |
Template parameter | Commons:Template:Muis on some paintings on Commons |
Domain | Any object belonging to the collection of an Estonian museum that belongs in Wikidata. At first probably mostly paintings, but other objects (manuscripts, historical items, etc) can also be appropriate. For example, first flag of Estonia (Q42522126) is definitely in the database (although there are so many Estonian flags that it is hard to find). |
Allowed values | [1-9]\d* |
Example | Farmhouse with a Stove (Q21257452) → 262747 |
External links | Use in sister projects: [ar] • [de] • [en] • [es] • [fr] • [he] • [it] • [ja] • [ko] • [nl] • [pl] • [pt] • [ru] • [sv] • [vi] • [zh] • [commons] • [species] • [wd] • [en.wikt] • [fr.wikt]. |
Planned use | Short term: Linking all (few) paintings already in Wikidata that are in the collection of the Tartu Art Museum to their MuIS page. Longer term: Working with this museum and others to expand the amount of Estonian art items in Wikidata, and linking to MuIS. |
Formatter URL | http://opendata.muis.ee/object/$1 |
Robot and gadget jobs | A bot/report could check for items marked as being in Estonian museums that are not linked to their MuIS entries. |
- Motivation
In order to add items of images in Estonian museums as part of the WikiProject sum of all paintings, it would be quite nice to be able to link the items to their entry in the common Estonian museum database MuIS. Reosarevok (talk) 20:27, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Support All Estonian museums are required to use this database. That is why this property would very valuable: it could be used on every Wikidata page about whatever object that is situated in some Estonian museum. Kruusamägi (talk) 13:25, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Just to point it out: it would be more complicated with graphic works where there are multiple copies (example: artwork by Eduard Wiiralt; I posted a longer story to that talk page). All the copies in Estonian museums should at some point be listed in MuIS and they would be separate entities. Kruusamägi (talk) 15:05, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Comment @Reosarevok: The website does not work because of a security problem. Thank you David (talk) 18:05, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- @ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2:It works for me, except if I try to force https on the opendata.muis.ee link (then it does error). The http opendata.muis.ee link redirects to an https page, maybe that's part of the problem? --Reosarevok (talk) 18:39, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Reosarevok: Unfortunately, https also does not work David (talk) 19:57, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- @ديفيد عادل وهبة خليل 2: Huh, I wonder what's going on here then - I can open the page just fine both in latest Chrome and latest Firefox. Does this link not work for other people either? --Reosarevok (talk) 20:46, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Links (http and https) work fine for me. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:01, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
