- Motivation
This 'monastery database' (not an official English name) edited by one of the oldest and most ambitious research projects in church history has information on monasteries, convents and collegiate churches (former or still existing) located in the territories of the Holy Roman Empire, from the 8th century until the beginning of the 19th century.
