Motivation[edit]

This site that will serve as an external identifier recreates several mansions, many of them demolished, from one of the main avenues in the city of São Paulo. It will be a great way to add credibility and link information to Wikidata items about all of these buildings. Sturm (talk) 20:20, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Thank you, @Emu:, for the feedback. In this case, your suggestion can be certain the right choice. But I take the opportunity to ask you how to ponder this question for proposed identifiers. What is the minimum number? What other criteria to consider? Refards, Sturm (talk) 00:09, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Sturm: That’s a good question. I believe it’s generally agreed upon that a few hundred are enough and a few dozen are too few (with certain exceptions). The range between a few dozen and a few hundred is somewhat unclear. But property proposals are discussed on a case by case basis, so this is just my subjective interpretation of discussions in the last few months. --Emu (talk) 16:51, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to add that described at URL (P973) isn’t always the best alternative, described by source (P1343) can be far more flexible and easier to maintain and query; I used it for the 202 current entries of the transdifferenz (Q98690549) database (list of entries) --Emu (talk) 16:55, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Sturm: Can we consider your proposal withdrawn? --Emu (talk) 19:59, 9 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not done, lack of consensus --Emu (talk) 12:52, 18 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
