Cricket items in Marathi[edit]

Hi Tiven! I see you are a temporary mrwiki administrator, so you may be able to help me with determining whether each of the pages in this list refers to the sport played in the specific country, such as with cricket in India (Q5185016), or whether each page refers to the country's men's national cricket team, such as with India national cricket team (Q1143793). The title of each page being "{country name} cricket" does not seem particularly helpful. Whatever you decide about what those pages refer to, would you be able to merge the corresponding items on Wikidata (e.g. if you decide that cricket in Indonesia (Q13115851) refers to cricket in Indonesia (Q25220846), could you merge the two items)? Are you unable to read the Pastebin? @अभय नातू: what’s going on? Mahir256 (talk) 14:05, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I can read it and we are working on it. It may take time as we are busy clearing backlog on MrWp. --Tiven2240 (talk) 14:27, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Mahir256:,
The title of each page being "{country name} cricket" does not seem particularly helpful.
In many cases, an article with {countryname} cricket refers to the organization that runs cricket in that country, such as Indonesia Cricket or Cricket Australia. We would like to differentiate that from Australian Women's Cricket Team or Indonesian Men's Cricket team. They (will) have different information with different focus.
Many/most of these articles do need to be expanded, as Tiven mentioned, including adding interwiki links.
Regards,
अभय नातू (talk) 16:59, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@अभय नातू, Tiven2240: Thank you for your responses. It does seem strange that each of those articles has categories "National cricket teams" and "Cricket associations" if I read those correctly, which are not necessarily the same thing. Mahir256 (talk) 19:45, 17 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A pair of items I came across worth merging: w:mr:नामदेव चं. कांबळेw:mr:नामदेव कांबळे Mahir256 (talk) 20:40, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

India Independence Day 2018 - Label-a-thon starte[edit]

Hello, an India-related label-a-thon is started and will continue till 19 January. I'd be grateful if you can improve the Marathi part (label/description/alias) part a bit. You can see the event page and participants' list here. --Titodutta (talk) 19:27, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Indian Independence Label-a-thon ends on 19 August 23:59 o'clock[edit]

An offline label-a-thon at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology, Guntur, India 16 August 2018.

Hello, first of all many many thanks for participating in the India Independence Day 2018 - Label-a-thon . The collaborative work and enthusiasm we have been seeing during this label-a-thon are the best outputs of the event. To mention a little about statistics: 72 Wikimedians have signed up so far, and more than 12,000 labels/descritions/aliases have been added in different Indian languages in 3 days.

New items added

New items on Sahitya Akademi winning authors and works (Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil and several other languages) have been added. You can see and work on these items.

Event ends on 19 August 2018 23:59 o'clock

Kndly note, this label-a-thon ends on 19 August 2018 (Sunday) 23:59 o'clock. We would be delighted to see great contribution in the next 36 hours. We together can make this event a bigger success.

Many thanks. -- Mahir256 and Tito using MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 08:03, 18 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
