Commons is unstable and not respectable[edit]

Hello.
The topic for Russian folk music (Q4400498) and Category:Russian folk music (Q8691492) is namely Russian traditional music‎. It is much narrower than the traditional music‎ of all Russia because the country hosts more than a hundred ethnicities, most of them having very different background and traditions. Yet an obscure user rewrites the category link here and you readily help them to conceal the disruption by deleting a long-existent category whose name is pretty valid. Expectedly, the site where such things occur routinely is famous for its push-[delete] culture (somewhat like ru.Wikipedia, but IMHO Commons is worse) and continues with it further. I hardly imagine anything like this happening in en.Wikipedia with any noticeable frequency. The time when Wikimedia Commons may enjoy a serious respect in Internet is decades in the future. @Incnis Mrsi: You can actually find "Russian traditional music‎" at "Traditional music of Russia". Also Russian folk music (Q4400498) and Category:Russian folk music (Q8691492) are pretty much linked to the same Wikipedia articles/categories (Russian traditional music / Category:Russian traditional music and This reply by the trouble-making user doesn’t address the principal grievance: abuse of the [delete] button makes all Commons-based resources unreliable. On bookmarking a category—well-used, grammatically named, and having the name exactly matching an article in Wikipedia—an Internet user shouldn’t expect it to stay for long. At any time it can go away on a whim of a random enthusiastic guy. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 13:27, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Incnis Mrsi: I personally don't consider my actions an "abuse of the [delete] button", considering there were two different categories with the same name. You probably noticed that all categories under Music of Russia by genre end with "of Russia" or "from Russia", and the main category is called "Music of Russia", not "Russian music". It was therefore appropriate to remove "Russian traditional music‎" (the badly named category) to keep Traditional music of Russia only, per consistency reasons. Hallo Turelino

Hi[edit]

I just saw your name here and said I will ask them something: Please delete the "Category:Jahrein (given name)" for C2. Danke schoen. --E4024 (talk) 20:05, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am not an admin here on WikiData. --Túrelio (talk) 11:02, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Uh! Then have a look at Category:Pozdnyakov Nikita where you are an admin, then. --E4024 (talk) 18:20, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. --Túrelio (talk) 09:52, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
