Undo revision[edit]

Dear Egermundson, I saw your undo of my revision at Q2297290 stating "Dates don't belong in label. Also, Siegen?" If dates don't belong in a label how is one supposed to differ between people with the same name? After all she wasn't the only Maria in her family. Second, yes Nassau-Siegen is a better way to name her family than Nassau-Dillenburg. But that's a discussion between historicians that probably will never end, so I don't mind you changing that. @HRvO: In wikidata the disambiguation is expected to happen using different means than extra words in the label. You could use the description field, or other fields. Thank you for clarifying Nassau-Siegen. Egermundson (talk) 20:05, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality in descriptions[edit]

Can you tell me why you did this, please? The adjective 'Welsh' to describe this person can be verified and backed up with many sources. And why delete the Welsh altogether??? Llywelyn2000 (talk) 11:43, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alma mater of Benjamín Herrera (Q2896298) deleted[edit]

Can you also tell me why you deleted this one, please? Did he not go to University of Cauca (Q1137779)? Please supply your sources. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 11:58, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Former names[edit]

Re: [1] and [2]: I see that you removed the former names of Corvallis (Q748474) (Marysville) and Coos Bay (Q913266) (Marshfield) from the alias field of those items. I'm glad you are enthusiastic to contribute to Wikidata, but I'm not sure that simply eliminating data when it's in a location where you would not have put it is an improvement to the project. So, if you don't like having that information in the alias field, where would you propose is a better location to put it? — Ipoellet (talk) 20:41, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Anthrax band update[edit]

Dear Egermundson,

You are right, the band is called Anthrax indeed. This is my mistake. I thought it was a confusion with the actual Anthrax bacteria.

Anthony

Metropolitan municipality in Turkey[edit]

Hi! About this revert, you can read here that metropolitan municipalities have substituted provinces in 30 cases. So, as of now, we have two type of first level country subdivisions: provinces (51) and metropolitan municipalities (30). --BohemianRhapsody (talk) 07:38, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the info! That makes a lot of sense. But shouldn't metropolitan municipality in Turkey (Q2716259) then have a subclass of (P279) link to province of Turkey (Q48336)? And then we also need to clean up Istanbul Province (Q534799) with its links. Let me know what you think. Greetings, Egermundson (talk) 15:07, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blank node deprecation in WDQS & Wikibase RDF model[edit]

https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata:Project_chat&oldid=1158902295#Blank_node_deprecation_in_WDQS_&_Wikibase_RDF_model

If you're still running a WDQS updater, then this change may affect you. Hopefully not.

I don't think it will have a significant effect on typical SPARQL queries.

Cheers, Bovlb (talk) 16:55, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just to follow up, this might affect any SPARQL query that uses isBlank, isIRI or isURI. Bovlb (talk) 19:09, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
