Typography of French[edit]

Hi,

For information, in French, proper names for bridges (and others things) like Beatus Rhenanus Bridge (Q20980965) start with a lowercase initial.

This is what the query was:

You removed " ?painter wdt:P937 ?item ." turning it into:

SELECT ?item (COUNT(?item) as ?count) WHERE {

  ?painter wdt:P31 wd:Q5 .
} GROUP BY ?item
ORDER BY DESC(?count) 
LIMIT 250

That doesn't work because the GROUP BY part references nothing. So not sure what you tested, but I'm sure it's not the query you saved.

@Multichill: all I can tell you is that, as it now and was before, the list cannot be updated by ListeriaBot. When you click on "update manually", nothing happens. When I removed one criterion, the manual updating worked. There were "no new items" (which is curious and unbelievable), but at least ListeriaBot made a search. Hans Hammer[edit]

Hello,

Concerning the link between Hans and Friedrich Hammer, I know this source, but I don’t consider it reliable on this specific point, as it has many problems. It is rather vague and, at the contrary of some of their other affirmations, they don’t quote the origin of it. Besides, I’ve read nearly all the books they mention in the literature at the bottom of the page and none say that. More problematic, I have also read most of the research focused on Hans Hammer and I have neither come across this affirmation. It does mean that someone have eventually said that somewhere, but that the peers have preferred to not repeat it, implying they disagree, or at best that they are not convinced of this relation. As far as I know, the only descent that is widely accepted by researchers is Michel from his first wife Margreden ; Hans, Catharina and Anna, probably from an unknown second wife ; no child are known from his third marriage.

I think it would be better to stick on data with a scientific consensus, especially as this data is automatically relayed elsewhere (in Wikipedia infoboxes for example). We could still add it later if it finally gain more support from researchers : I monitor everything related to Hans Hammer and other late gothic architects, so if it appears in a paper in the future, there is high chances I will notice it. Art catalogs versus books[edit]

Why do you feel an art catalog is not a book? Also, why is it important to specify that an art catalog is also a book? I understand merging a book with an exhibition and do this myself quite a bit, using instance of (P31) for two items, "art exhibition" and "art catalog". To additionally specify "book" seems excessive and also contradictory to the "art exhibition" part. Are you suggesting that in such cases there should always be at least two items for the book and for the exhibition? I don't see the added value for doing it this way. Harassment of other users[edit]

You harassing other users like you did at User_talk:Jean-Frédéric#Un_problème_avec_InteGraalityBot is not acceptable behavior. You're not entitled to anything. Tools are provided as a best-effort service by volunteer service without absolutely no guaranties about the availability. Reporting possible bugs in a factual friendly manner is acceptable behavior, harassing other users because you feel entitled to a response within 24 hours is not. I expect you to never do this again (consider this your last warning) and it would show good character if you apologized to user:Jean-Frédéric. Multichill (talk) 12:50, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Multichill: I do not like the threatening tone that you are using. I am being useful here, and I do not like to be treated with contempt. I remember how there were problems with ListeriaBot and Magnus Manske did not reply to any of the messages where I signalled the problem. Don't you think people should acknowledge that I am doing something good by signalling problems, and maybe drop me a short message ("OK", or "got it" are enough) just to make sure that I know I am not acting in vain? Edelseider: you are the one with an inapropriate attitude, please don't reverse the role and play victim when you are the bully.

I can try to see things you way: one unique page (which is sandbox and therefore should not be used or considered perfect anyway) is broken, you leave a message and less then 24 hours later, you leave an other message, a negative one this time (as you aknowledge yourself). At the very least you seem very impatient (most people don't connected everyday on Wikidata, especially people in wikislow), jumping to wrong conclusion (just because you didn't get an answer doesn't mean you've been ignored) and very demanding ("urgent") for something you have absolutely no entitlement to (yes people « should acknowledge » but it's not an obligation and certainly not in less than 24 hours). Couldn't you wait a bit more? and be more civil? On top of that, you left an even more agressive and nagtive third message with even less reasons. I agree with Multichill this « is not acceptable behavior ».

You may not want to apologize for your bad behaviour, fine. But at the very least, please stop and never do this kind of thing again or you will be blocked (this is not a threat at all but a simple and obvious prediction for the consequence of not repecting basic human interaction and Commons rules).
