Template documentation
This table lists, per chemical element (Q11344):
- allotrope (Q21198401) of element
- Atomic item
- simple substance (Q2512777) (list)
- Unrelated items (deconfuse)
For example, sulfur (Q682):
Notes[edit]
- As of 15 August 2022, this list has been compiled manually. For example, by visually crosschecking properties (WLH), queries, sources, (enwiki) articles.
- In the Simple Substance listings, no distinction is made between "classified as allotrope" and "not classified as allotrope".
- For example: carbon lists both diamond (Q5283) and carbon nanotube (Q1778729) are equally listed.
- As of 15 August 2022, no single classification or query is available to retrieve all "simple substances" of an element. Partly this is because allotropes are classified differently (below the element than other single substances.
- Isotopes are not considered relevant (and so not noted), except when a substance is isotopically defined (for example hydrogen deuteride (Q1444906))
- Counting: s.s. QIDs: 105 (of which AL: 74) 15:38, 16 August 2022 (UTC)
Development[edit]
- Todo: finalise talk:Data_structure_for_elemental_substance_and_element to define "element" and "substance" classification.
- Should include: is "Allotrope of element" in the class tree? OR directly "simple substance of"?
- Many allotropes are known, see Phase diagrams of the elements (Q113366644) [1]; to be added
- Todo: build queries, completeness
- enwiki: en:Template:Infobox element/symbol-to-simple-substance/overview (latest update: 13 August 2015)
