Which span of time?[edit]

There is a problem with this item. Some of the interwikis are about Athens in the Greek Classical era (which is about 508–322 BC), and others concerns about Athens in a whole Antiquity. This makes this items linking both to a bigger subject and its subset. PuchaczTrado (talk) 15:36, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that it is a problem, but I am afraid that there is very little I can do, since I only understand fragments of only a few languages here, except for English. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 19:01, 25 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So, at the moment this item has start time (P580)508 BCE and @Alotrootropico: added end time (P582)322 BCE. However, Athens continued to exist as a State until the first centuries AD (e.g. Prosopographia Attica lists people well after 322 BCE; same in [of archons]) ... so I'm not convinced about the statement end time (P582)322 BCE: Athens ceased to be an indipendent state, but continued to exist untile Late Antiquity (5th century AD). --Epìdosis 10:44, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

--Epìdosis The label of the item is "Classical Athens", which, by definition, ends with the emergency of Alexander's empire and the Hellenistic Period (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_Athens). I would use "Athens" for the city/city-state in general or even better, we could create a new item "Athens city-state" or "Ancient Athens" which superposes with the existing ones. --Alotrootropico (talk) 22:33, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
