Practice appears to dictate that this not be treated as a taxon. It seems safe to assume that everybody thinks of this as a vegetable, not as a taxon. So, Daucus carota subsp. sativus (Q20630916) for the taxon and the taxonomic connections, and this item for the vegetable, with, say, the nutritional values. - Brya (talk) 05:42, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A taxon is a scientific concept, dealing primarily with circumscription. A vegetable is a culinary concept, that is, its application is in the kitchen, with effects on health. They are very different concepts. - Brya (talk) 19:51, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
