Aliases[edit]

Does this item really need aliases “A” and “B”? I know he wrote under the “name” of “A” (though I confess I don’t know where “B” comes in), but that doesn’t make them useful aliases IMO. But currently, if you want to add a statement with the object “A”, Søren Kierkegaard is the first suggestion, rather than more useful items like the letter, the physical unit, or the musical note. (Pinging Koavf because of this edit.) —Galaktos (talk) 11:50, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Galaktos: I tried to write on your user talk but I had no clue what was going on there. If we are going to include some of his pseudonyms, we should include them all (and he does use "A" and "B" in his authorship). —Justin (koavf)TCM 13:53, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: Oh, I see. My user page has Flow. Anyways, this probably belongs here.
I don’t think it’s any use to include these pseudonyms here. I think it’s very unlikely that someone will search for “A” and actually want this as a result (but not search for “Kierkegaard” directly). Meanwhile, people who search for other “A”s (in my case, the musical note) get this completely unrelated item as first result.
I would agree with the statement If we are going to include some of his pseudonyms, we should include them all about statements. But aliases are in my opinion more for humans, and not primarily data themselves; thus, we should consider their usefulness, rather than their completeness. —Galaktos (talk) 15:12, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
(btw, I just imported all the pseudonyms listed on enwiki as pseudonym (P742) statements. —Galaktos (talk) 15:19, 31 August 2015 (UTC))[reply]
@Galaktos: Good point. But should all pseudonyms be properties rather than "also known as"? What about someone who is primarily known by a pseudonym? (Thanks for using {{Ping}}), by the way. —Justin (koavf)TCM 16:08, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Koavf: I definitely think all pseudonyms should be properties, since that’s useful and referenceable data. In addition to that, most pseudonyms should probably be aliases as well, so that the item can be found by these aliases – this is just a special case in which I think that’s not very useful. (And if a person is primarily known under a pseudonym, that pseudonym should be the main label – see, for instance, Lady Gaga (Q19848).) —Galaktos (talk) 16:19, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

So based on this discussion, I remove the A and B from the Aliases. Feel free to revert. @Galaktos:, @Koavf: --Denny (talk) 20:43, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
