I added North America as the current definition of North America given by the English Wikipedia includes the Caribbean. This, of course, may change occasionally, so someone might want to check from time to time. --131.152.41.173 14:06, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
To do:
[edit]Some things that need doing:
shares border with (P47) needs filling out with the rest of the historic borders. w:Countries bordering the European Union and its translations are a useful source.Done by Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop- More data should be added on the EU's positions in various international organizations. (Not sure how the EU's position in the UN could be represented; see w:United Nations General Assembly observers#European Union.)
A list of historical EU currencies is needed.Done by Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop- Should located in time zone (P421) statements be added here?
- According to w:Public holidays in the European Union, "The European Union does not set public holidays for its member states. However the European Commission does set public holidays for the employees of the institutions of the European Union." Perhaps these should these be counted for purposes of public holiday (P832)?

- Historical borders and currencies added, as long as all 24 official names of EU. --Sannita - not just another it.wiki sysop 00:22, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
Removing the bordering countries
[edit]@Yair rand: I have removed the bordering countries, because the property desscription says: "countries or administrative subdivisions, of equal level, that this item borders, either by land or water". and I don´t think the EU at the same level as countries like Liechtenstein. In this case, Switzerland and Austria were correct, because they are on the same level, and not European Union. --MGChecker (talk) 17:43, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- I think that when there is no equivalent level entity on the other side of the border, it's appropriate to use the nearest available level, in this case country. --Yair rand (talk) 17:53, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Members
[edit]Hi, just wondering why it doesn't contain the most obvious set of data: Members? I guess that would be a list of contains the administrative territorial entity (P150). --Aeroid (talk) 13:44, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Aeroid: Membership is stored as member of (P463) statements in the items for the member states. --Yair rand (talk) 21:55, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- From a purely data-analysis background, you may be right. However, you expect researchers to think "White" as opposed to "Black". Using the bi-diectional entry, there won't be any harm in the 27 additional entries I provided. Yotwen (talk) 06:12, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

[edit]The above is the regional indicator symbol for the EU. Thus I restored it as alias.

Coat of arms?
[edit]This image is very clearly a non-official coat of arms of the EU; thus I belive it is simply wrong practice to include it here under P94. Since it's not an official symbol of the Union, I’d like to propse the removal of the property. everyone's favorite Blua lago(let's have a chat y'all) 13:30, 17 September 2022 (UTC)
