A class or an instance?
So, is BSD essentially a pointer to 4.4BSD? Or is BSD actually itself a class of (very) related Operating Systems? (i.e 4.4BSD is an instance of BSD, 4.2BSD is an instance of BSD etc.) This is crucial to how we define BSD. I am in favor of making the vanilla identifier "BSD" refer to the latest version (4.4BSD), acting basically like a pointer (or a symlink), but I'd like to hear other thoughts.
Misc
Why is "Berkeley System Distribution" listed as an alternative name? Does anyone actually call it that?
