I may try to split this item into separate items for Wellington City (the area governed by Wellington City Council) and the Wellington urban area (the built-up area including Wellington City, the Hutt Valley, Porirua etc.). It's a strange combination of the two at the moment. Ghouston (talk) 00:12, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- There are already two categories, Category:Wellington City (Q8146214) and Category:Wellington (Q8146231). This Wellington (Q23661) item is linked with Category:Wellington (Q8146231), which is about the urban area Wellington + Hutt Valley + Porirua, and that's also what en:Wellington claims to be about. Hence, it would make sense to create a new item for Wellington City, to link with Category:Wellington City (Q8146214). However, it seems strange to be creating a new item for New Zealand's capital city at this late point in time, and I'm not sure I'd be able to do it without getting reverted. I've clarified that Wellington (Q23661) represents the urban area combining Wellington City, the Hutt Valley, and Porirua, and created Wellington City (Q47037646) for Wellington City. Since the Polish Wikipedia has articles for both the urban area and the city, there's no problem showing that both items need to be present in Wikidata. Ghouston (talk) 05:32, 4 January 2018 (UTC)
