Replaces (P1365)[edit]

Should we have the property replaces (P1365), and if so, what should its value be? I'm thinking we shouldn't have it because the federation was something new, it wasn't replacing any other government entity. Alternatively, we could say that Canada "replaced" each of the old colonies, but that's not quite true because most of them still exist as provinces, so they didn't end. The status quo is to list only the Province of Canada, but they only way in which Canada replaced only the Province of Canada is that the office of GG for the Province of Canada became the office of the GG for Canada, but that kind of reasoning would need footnotes to explain it. --Arctic.gnome (talk) 16:45, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Western Armenian Translation[edit]

The Western Armenian translation is misspelled. It should be Գանատա as that is the standardized spelling in Western Armenian publications in Canada. Քանատա could potentially be kept as an alias. --Manougian (talk) 03:13, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Population stats[edit]

Currently the StatCan source is cited without taking comments into account. In fact, some of the earlier numbers are NOT Canadian population: some of them (1613, 1622, 1691, 1702 etc.) are for French population of Newfoundland only, others (1671, 1693, 1701) are for the population of Acadia only/Acadia+Newfoundland, there are also populations of Upper Canada only or separate islands/cities. I am planning to delete all such partial values because they distort the trend of population dynamics. Are there any substantiated arguments against the deletion? --Deinocheirus (talk) 12:47, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
