Odd inter-wiki linking behaviour[edit]
I have noticed in the edit history of this item that there are issues with inter-linking between Wikidata and Wikivoyage. The pattern can also be seen in other items for cities that have Wikivoyage articles, such as Q1025918 and Q147756. I suspect that the problem is on the Wikivoyage side, possibly as a result of page deletion vandalism. The links from Wikipedia suggest that the articles keep getting vandalised which leads to inconsistencies. — ArticCynda (talk) 12:27, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but what? These deletions are not vandalism, but Ikan and I deleted those, because it was you who was evading your block and then when we deleted those pages as part of enforcing the block, you accuse us for "vandalism". And the saddest part of this thing is, you still don't think you're at fault here. SHB2000 (talk) 11:55, 7 November 2021 (UTC):
- The deletions do have all the usual characteristics of vandalism, though:
- No prior discussion on the article's talk page
- Not tagged with {{vfd}} or {{delete}}
- Engaging in an edit war with at least 4 different editors restoring the deleted content
- Wikivoyage is a travel guide, so the act of deleting entire articles of useful travel information from it is indeed an act of vandalism, in my opinion. At worst, the articles should be redirected to region articles instead of being deleted to preserve links from Wikidata and Wikipedia. Currently, the Wikipedia articles for these cities still advertise Wikivoyage articles that you deleted, and inconsistencies like that should be avoided.
- If the proper procedure had been followed, and the articles that bother you had been nominated for deletion with {{vfd}}, then argue the case on the votes for deletion talk page, there would have been no confusion.
