Please change Wikimedia Commons link.[edit]

There has been some confusion with this category in the past, which I'm trying to resolve. Presently, this WikiData item points to the Commons:Category:Medaillons it should point to Commons:Category:Medallions (architecture), which is a temporary sorting category.

A "Medaillon" is a round cut of meat. A "Medallion" can mean a large medal, or an even larger wall ornament. This WikiData item is for the wall ornament. It presently points to the spelling for the round cut of meat which, in turn, is currently redirected to point to the much smaller "large medal". I'd like to have it corrected to point to the right category, the wall ornament.

Thank you for your assistance. PoundTales (talk) 14:40, 10 February 2022 (UTC) [reply]

P.S.: Also, the English description "oval decoration used in architecture" is incorrect. While medallions may occasionally be oval, they are almost always round ... hence the name and the confusion. PoundTales (talk) 14:48, 10 February 2022 (UTC) [reply]
