Merge suggestion[edit]
This item should be Merged with relative density (Q11027905), content are identical
- I tend to agree. Toni 001 (talk) 07:31, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
- 1) I see the difference. Q11027905 is a ratio to any referential density (e.g. air), while Q10972285 is a ratio to specifically density of water.
- 2) You can't merge until you merge articles in nnwiki (nn:Spesifikk gravitet+nn:Spesifikk vekt), arwiki (ar:كثافة نسبية +ar:كثافة نوعية), simplewiki (simple:Specific gravity+simple:Relative density), tawiki (ta:சாரடர்த்தி+ta:நீர் ஒப்படர்த்தி). --Infovarius (talk) 20:48, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
- 1) I understand that relative density is usually used as a ratio to water. However, as far as I am concerned, I don't think there is a need to specifically separate it from the original formula d=ρ/ρ0 just because it is more commonly used, which can cause confusion for those reader who does not really understand this topic.
- Also, both ISO 80000-4:2019, IUPAC Gold Book, or IUPAC Green Book does not specifically defined a ratio to the density of water.
- 2) As for those 2 articles in nnwiki, I believe nn:Spesifikk vekt (specific weight) is mistakenly linked to Q10972285, as vekt means weight in Norwegian. It should be linked to Q749542 instead. Aquacryst (talk) 02:23, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
