Pollution Control (English)
The Navy, the largest and most visible employer in San Diego , became the object of much criticism as an environmental polluter. A multi-media campaign emphasized past and current ecological projects and how it planned ultimately to eliminate pollution. Additionally, the program pointed out that the Navy was a leader in the ecology field long before it became of widespread concern. The community responded favorably and public criticism is now negligible while requests for information about the Navy's program continue to increase. (English)
