Editions not Works[edit]

All the linked items I've seen on Topos are editions of works, not IDs for works themselves. They appear to be English translations of Classical works, which means the domain for this ID is incorrect. The domain should be version, edition or translation (Q3331189). --EncycloPetey (talk) 21:05, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at this more closely I would tend to agree and suggest you go ahead and make the change. Pinging relevant users who should be aware of this @JBradyK, Epìdosis:. --SilentSpike (talk) 22:11, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@EncycloPetey: I copy what I wrote here:
"I partially agree: on the one hand, it is true that looking into each item, it refers to a specific translation (rarely a non-otherwise-published translation); on the other hand, the general list intends that each ID refers uniquely to the work and there are no cases of works present in two translations. So, in my opinion it is not entirely wrong having the IDs in the work-items, but it would be preferable to transfer them into the edition-items, which are all to be created. I have in my PC all the data to create these edition items, but in these days I'm quite busy ... probably in one month I'll be able to bot-create the edition-items and to transfer to them the IDs, at the moment let's keep them where they are."
In conclusion, I will make the change when I will bot-create the edition-items. Thanks, --Epìdosis 06:33, 6 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
